Quest Overseas Summer Bursary Available worth £1000 !

Quest4Change has been in action for nearly five years and has raised a staggering 1.5 million pounds in that time.  Every penny of that money has gone to our project partners in Africa or South America, supporting our sustainable development goals.  To mark this achievement, we are offering everyone the chance to apply for this amazing bursary, which is a contribution towards project costs for a 2013 summer project.

How to apply:

To apply for your place, simply follow the link and fill out your application, telling us why you think the bursary should go to you – simple!

Already secured your summer place?

If you have already applied or secured a place on a summer trip in 2013, you can still apply for the bursary.  Just tell us in no more than 500 words why you think the bursary should be awarded to you.  Email your answer to gemma@questoverseas.com with the title 'Summer Bursary Application_your name' in the email.  Applications close on 1st March and we will announce the winner shortly afterwards.

We hope you enjoy this early Christmas present and from all of us at Quest HQ, Merry Christmas and Happy 2013!

**Please note that expeditions are not part of this amazing offer and flights and project donation costs are to be met by the volunteer.

£4,000 Gap Year grants

The Royal Geographical Society has once again made a number of £4,000 grants available to young geographers who, through challenging circumstances or lack of opportunity, would not otherwise be able to take a Gap Year overseas.

The grants can fund travel, accommodation and the costs of a placement such as a conservation project, an expedition or cultural exchange. Alongside this each gap scholar is provided with a mentor to help them plan a meaningful and worthwhile experience, and receives expert guidance from the RGS.

To be considered applicants must be UK students taking A-Level/Advanced Higher/IB or equivalent geography at a state school/college and submitting an application to study geography at degree level in the UK.

The deadline for applications for students completing school in 2013 and taking a year out from 2013-2014 is 5th October 2012.

Information about the grant, including full eligibility criteria is available on the RGS website - http://www.rgs.org/OurWork/Learning+and+Leading/Gap+year.htm

Please note....this grant is not connected to Quest Overseas - it is administered and organised entirely by the Royal Geographical Association. We are simply passing on information that you may find useful and that may help you take the Gap Year you've been dreaming about! If you have any quesitons about the grant or want to look into applying check out the RGS website.
