Language Phase 3 weeks: One to one Spanish tuition in Quito - the capital of Ecuador situated high in the Andes. You'll explore the city, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, visit vibrant indigenous market towns, beaches, and surrounding cloud forests.
Project Phase 4 weeks: The project gives you a fascinating insight into the unique way of life of the communities of the Amazon rainforest. You will be working alongside the students of the Yachana high school, an institute set up to offer a more realistic and useful education for children in the Amazon basin. Whilst you are there, you will learn about sustainable forestry, conservation and local micro enterprise, while providing an essential insight for the local children about other cultures and languages. Furthermore, your donation will provide education for an entire year for one of these students. This intense involvement with the local community twinned with Spanish lessons provides an unrivalled cultural experience.
