Kenya's rapidly rising population is increasing pressure on water supplies for drinking and food production. Nearly half of sub-Saharan Africa doesn't have access to safe drinking water, famine and drought are now a harsh reality. You can help transform people's lives by volunteering in the construction of sand dams. Be the first to explore our new East African expedition.
Population pressure, poor rains, deforestation and soil erosion means that the communities of rural Kenya are struggling to survive. Help build sand dams and give the people the gift of a sustainable year round water supply to drink and irrigate crops. Work with community self-help groups to improve their livelihoods, health and incomes. The communities we work with face many problems in their day to day lives, in particular the shortage of water and food. Their environment is also affected by deforestation.
So you thought you worked hard enough, time to go that little bit further! This is your chance to experience and explore the diversity of the real Africa, trek through jungles past stunning waterfalls, raft down the white-water rapids of the Nile, live and breath Rwanda's culture, spot the big 5, summit a mountain and learn to dive off pristine beaches. Six weeks of adventure, adrenaline, culture and fun that you will never forget
Spend 6 weeks living and working with Kenyan communities to transform their lives for a sustainable future. Then, if you're up for the challenge, join our new East Africa expedition, Team sizes 10-16.
