Malawi Orphans & Community Project
JOURNEY: Malawi
PURPOSE: Community Development
DURATION: 4 weeks, departs 3rd July '08
Experience day-to-day life in a rural African community surrounded by the smiling faces of one of Africa's friendliest countries.
Malawi is an incredibly poor country. It is estimated that up to seven million people, from a population of 12 million, may be on the edge of famine and an estimated 400,000 children have been orphaned. Each village community often supports over 100 of these orphaned and vulnerable children. You can help make a difference to the lives of these children by joining this project.
- Help build classrooms and health centres for Malawian children
- Work alongside local community groups
- Experience life in a rural African village
- Spend time playing with orphan & vulnerable children or helping out in local schools with informal lessons from sports to art and drama
- Your donation will sponsor a child through secondary education
- We include a weekend trip to Lake Malawi or a safari to one of the stunning Game Reserves
The beauty of this project is that it exposes you directly to the warmth and unforgettable welcome of the Malawian people.
