Sarah Bareham
Job title: Operations Assistant
How do you deal with stress: A combination of writing lists on post-it notes and Ben & Jerry’s chocolate fudge brownie ice cream.
Your favorite place: Far too many to choose between but Chugchilan in Ecuador, Torres del Paine National Park in Chile, the Okavango Delta in Botswana, Kathmandu, the Isle of Skye (rock on geography field trips).
Last book you read: The Grapes of Wrath – John Steinbeck
Your heroes include: Michael Palin….because he’s cool, has been to some very exciting places and is the president of the RGS
Best day at quest so far: Going back to my Gap Year with Quest, one of the best days has to be the sports day we organized at the primary school in Tanzania – cue chaos and kids covered in flour. That or snorkeling with a whaleshark.
Who makes you laugh: Seeing Tim Minchin in Brighton was hilarious
Whats on your desk: The stationery box, phones and a photo of a chicken the Tanzania GAP team ate
Proudest moment at work: Seeing the fantastic work our volunteers do and being part of it everyday….(couldn’t think of anything specific so went for cheesy instead)
meet the team
It's the people which make the trip, which is why we work hard to make sure our staff and project partners are one of a kind. Of course they are qualified and experienced in their field, but more than that, they're people we enjoy working with, and that we hope you will enjoy spending time with! Find out a bit more about them here.
