The world cup in Africa is over is over but the new season is soon upon us, time to celebrate and if this video is anything to go by, goal celebrations are going to be getting bigger and stranger every year.  They have certainly come a long way since Roger Milla wiggled his hips down by the corner flag.

Fishing for the Arapaima

The diet of the Arapaima consists of fish, crustaceans, and other small animals. The fish is an air-breather, using its labyrinth organ, which is rich in blood vessels and opens into the fish's mouth, an advantage in oxygen-deprived water that is often found in the Amazon River. This fish is therefore able to survive in shallow waters.

A Travel Playlist?

One of the best bits about packing for a trip - if I'm honest, maybe the only good bit - is sorting out what music to take with.  Gone are the awkward days of a bulky pile of CDs, or even cassette tapes, depending on your age....I still love my tapes.  But anyway, now the music business has got seriously small, it means it's really easy to take as much music as you want with you.

Taking this guy's advice, you need "a collection of songs that sum up your whole gap year experience and that listening to later on in life will instantly bring you back to that special time."  And whilst I am concerned at his choice of 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight', I reckon that's pretty decent advice.

Rose's World Cup hero - perhaps - Mesut Özil

 I reckon I watched at least three quarters of this year's matches, but can I claim to have an in-depth knowledge of the players on each team?  No.  About four per team I reckon is my maximum player knowledge-level.  Sad but true.  This may have something to do with the fact that I was simultaneously reading for my postgraduate dissertation (yes honestly)... anyway, onto my somewhat uneducated pick for World Cup hero - Mesut Özil.
