Arty?

A very addictive game designed by our good friends at GASP.

This little app is free and well worth a download, it’s far more fun (and less annoying) than the angry birds one.

Congratulations all of you at Gasp - and maybe soon we will have a Quest Overseas app....!

Friggatriskaidekaphobia...

Friday the 13th

...is the fear of Friday the 13th - don't worry, it's almost over.

Other interesting phobias which (apparently) exist:

Coulrophobia - Fear of Clowns
Ergasiophobia - Fear of Work (try that one for your next sickie...)
Automatonophobia - Fear of ventriloquist's dummies, animatronic creatures, wax statues, anything that falsely represents a sentient being
Caligynephobia - Fear of beautiful women
Consecotaleophobia - Fear of chopsticks
Arachibutyrophobia - The fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of the mouth
Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia - Fear of long words
Phagophobia - Fear of being eaten
Phobophobia - Fear of phobias!

I wonder how many of these will be Hollywood blockbusters in the future...

It was great to see so many of you at the ball last Sunday.  We hope that you all had a great night and that the morning after was not too painful.

Thank you all again for your hard work.

So to start with here is the winning video from The Kenya team.

We will blog a new one each day till Christmas.

Wishing you all a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

The year in Lego - can you do better?

No one could doubt that 2011 has been an eventful year in global events - with the ‘Arab Spring' spreading from Tunisia across North Africa and the Middle East, the killing of Osama bin Laden, News International, and deepening economic woes with the Eurozone Crisis.

Here at Quest Overseas, it's also been eventful, if on a slightly smaller scale! We've seen the sand dam cement mixing record broken in Kenya, bones broken in Bolivia, Snow White & the Seven dwarves glimpsed at Machu Picchu, not to mention the first Quest team to reach the summit of Kilimanjaro...

Our Annual Reunion Ball with tales and photos from 2011 is coming up this Sunday, but the clever folks at the Guardian have unfortunately beaten us to marking the year's happenings in the best way we've possibly ever seen ... in Lego!!

Why not make your own Lego scene from your project and we'll stick it up on our Facebook page for the world to admire?

A cartload of chimpanzees?

Who fancies heading out on the East African Expedition next year to spot a cartload of chimpanzees, a bloat of hippos, a crash of rhinos or even a coalition of cheetahs? Or perhaps South America sounds more enticing with its posses of vicuna and shadows of jaguars...

A recent google search to find the collective noun for chimpanzees (a cartload) has opened my eyes to one of the more bizarre, but entertaining aspects of the English language - the strange and sometimes downright wierd collective nouns we have for the animals on this planet. Some of the best are above and can be experienced first hand on Quest's East African and Andean Expeditions....a few other choice finds are below...!
