Waang'waray on the slopes of Mount Kwaraa provides a perfect back drop to a community that is both warm and welcoming, yet in dire need of help. Your project work includes improving the educational facilities, building classrooms, libraries as well as lots of painting, plenty of games and informal teaching. Further more after the project there is the chance to join a mind blowing expedition that takes you through Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.
This is your chance to experience a totally different world, living and working in rural Africa, working shoulder to shoulder with the community to improve lives. Many in the Waang'waray community live in extreme poverty, surviving on less than a $1 a day. They simply cannot afford to improve their local school. Yet without a good education the children are condemned to live a life of poverty and deprivation. By helping improve the educational environment and motivating young people we can give them the tools to fight poverty for themselves. Your help in the process, by building, painting, playing and making school fun, is invaluable.
This expedition is optional and not for the faint hearted. From our project we summit one Africa's highest mountains. What better way to view the sun setting over the plains then from the top of the world? A quick turnaround and no time to rest as we Safari through Tsavo National Park. Up the coast of Kenya and to the beach! A chance to relax while gaining your PADI Open Water qualification in the waters off Malindi, whale sharks a plenty. On to Hells Gate National Park for some trekking horse riding and yet more wildlife, then through to Uganda on foot walking north of Mount Elgon to arrive and bathe in the waterfalls at Sipi. White water adrenaline on the source of the Nile before arriving in Rwanda to learn more of its history and an ending that will take your breath away!. This expedition is a real mix of culture, adrenalin and fun.
Six weeks volunteering on our community development project in northern Tanzania. Return home after the project or take on our new six week East African expedition, exploring mountains, culture, waterfalls and beaches; get under the skin of some of Africa's best kept secrets.
