Ex-Quest Overseas Leader climbs Mt Kenya

Quest News

Ex Quest Overseas Leader James Docherty will be attempting to Summit Mount Kenya with Camilo Casas this coming September and is hoping to raise £5199 for our Project partners Excellent Development in the process.  That’s £1 for every metre climbed!

James led several Quest teams on our project in Kenya and so has seen first hand the difference that can be made working alongside the community self help groups.  The region Excellent Development work in hasn’t seen rains for 2 years and so raising both funds and awareness is key to supporting more people and building more sand dams.  Sand dams trap a year round supply of water that can be used for drinking and crop irrigation.

Mount Kenya Stats:
•    Highest Mountain in Kenya
•    2nd highest mountain in Africa
•    Summit 5199m, 17,057ft
•    Extinct volcano 70miles north of Nairobi
•    First climbed in 1899 by Halford MacKinder, C.Ollier and J.Brocherel

Support James and Camilo here.

If you donate you will be treated with footage of James and Camilo performing a special rain dance on the summit.
