Quest News

In a world cup that let’s face it provided very little in the way of entertainment there is one character that will for me be a lasting memory South Africa 2010.  It’s not an physic octopus, Spain’s tika taka, the at times breathtaking speed of German attack, the Argentinean teams adoration for their tactic less leader Maradona.   For me it is all about a young lad born in Salto, Uruguay.  One of seven brothers and raised by a single mother.  A troublesome teenager,  involved in drinking and partying, instead of focusing on football.  At the age of 14, however, he was given an ultimatum by his youth team coach, and started to work hard in practice.  Thank God because what would the world cup of been without Luis Suarez!

What I enjoy most about the bellow footage isn’t the impressive volley ball clearance, nor his jubilation and hilarious celebration at seeing a peer miss what would of been a winning penalty.  What tickles me is the fact he tried the old “What? What did I do? You got to be kidding me ref, wasn’t me.”   Calmly walking away from the goal line and then the surprise when the Ref sends him off.  Brilliant South American Cheating.
