Quest News

I was fortunate enough last night to be invited to the launch of rediscovering African Geographies at the R.G.S. it  was both interesting and engaging.  , the exhibition shows, from an African perspective, how culture, international relations, language and conflict have shaped the geography we know today. It uses maps, photographs and literature from our Collections to travel through Africa’s history.

If you are in the area I thoroughly recommend you pop in for a look the exhibition is free and is Running from 22 March to 28 April 2011.

See and hear more in the BBC online slideshow, read a detailed essay (PDF) on the exhibition written by Felix Driver and take some time to view a selection of the maps included in the exhibition.
