Its Adam Stevenson from the 2012 Quest group to Malawi. I’m just sending an update on how we are all getting on.

We have been working on the site for around three weeks so far. we are well on track and have begun painting the inside walls (sky blue) and today we hope to get the roof on so progress is being made as everyone at the site is working hard.

In the village of Chigwaja the group is also communicating with the community by (attempting) to speak chichewa however the locals seem to be better at English than we are a chichewa. Everyone is enjoying the experience of talking to and playing games with the children. We sometimes play frizbe and football in the village. One Sunday morning we also visited a nearby church in the village. It is very different to the churches at home as they rarely sit down. Church in Malawi mainly compromises of jumping around and dancing while other members of the church play the hand drums. It was a very good experience.

Many of the group have been trying different types of malawian food such as goat, mouse, nsima and grasshoppers. The Grasshoppers are my personal favourite as well as the sugar canes.
